Job Summary
The Grocery Supervisor will assist the Department Manager to ensure that the department is operated in a financially responsible manner. This will include ordering & rotating stock to maintain proper inventory levels, quality, and freshness. The successful applicant will ensure the grocery department is in presentable condition at all times, while ensuring customer service is the number one priority.
Job Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant Thrifty Foods policies and procedures.
- Excellent ability to provide high-level customer service and to motivate others to do the same.
- Commitment for continuous learning and the ability to work with all departments.
- Experienced at training and supervision of staff.
- Must be able to communicate instructions and directions clearly and effectively.
- Demonstrated skill at ordering and merchandising grocery products on a daily basis and to highlight seasonal trends and special promotions to maximize sales and profits.
- Good product knowledge and awareness of product changes and seasonal requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to make difficult decisions.
- Applicants must provide a minimum of 2 names for reference checks. One reference must be from a current Manager or Supervisor.
