Job Summary
Reporting to the Store Manager, the Floral Manager will ensure that the department is operated in a fiscally responsible manner. This will include management of labour costs, inventory control and maximizing sales & profits. The Floral Manager will also conduct performance reviews and staff evaluations as well as the training and supervision of staff. This position will also ensure that the department is maintained according to Thrifty Foods presentation standards, while providing a high level of customer service.
Job Requirements
- Skilled at motivating and leading staff through personal example regarding selling skills, department cleanliness, health & safety practices, dress code, staff relations, and compliance with Thrifty Foods policies.
- Possess thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant Thrifty Foods policies and procedures.
- Ability to provide high-level customer service and to motivate others to do the same.
- Must be able to communicate instructions and directions clearly and effectively.
- Proven ability to deal with sensitive interpersonal situations with positive results.
- Demonstrated skill at ordering and merchandising products on a daily basis and to highlight seasonal trends and special promotions to maximize sales and profits.
- Ability to make difficult decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to maximize department sales, ratio, and gross margins to meet budgetary expectations.
- Successful applicants should have Scheduling and Kronos experience.
- Applicants must provide a minimum of 2 names for reference checks. One reference must be form a current Supervisor or Manager.
